Atlantic Rally of Morogoro:
The season kicked off at Morogoro and was organized by The Mount Uluguru Rally Club, the main sponsor of the event was Atlantic Grease and Lubricants. The event had 17 teams participating, including a team from Uganda. Kevin Taylor, navigated by his brother Isaac Taylor, received great support from the local crowd. The winner of the event was Gurjit Dhani, navigated by Riyaz Ismail from Kenya, representing Hari Singh Rally Team. Second place went to Amapiano Motorsport Team, with Charles Bicco as the driver and David Singston Matete as the navigator. The Birdi Rally Team secured the third position with Manveer Birdi as the driver and Ravi Chana as the navigator.
Atlantic Mkwawa Rally of Iringa:
The second event of the Tanzania Rally Championship was held in Iringa Region. The event took place at Huwel farm and was called Atlantic Mkwawa Rally of Iringa. Sixteen cars participated in the event. The winners of the event were Gurpal Singh, navigated by Dave Sihoka, representing AESL Racing Team. The Birdi Rally Team secured the second position, while Fuchs Titan Rally Team’s driver, Harrinder Deere, navigated by Manmeet Birdi, finished in third place.
Tanzania Atlantic Rally in Arusha:
The African Rally Championship was held in Arusha Region. The event was sponsored by Atlantic Grease and Lubricants International Limited. It had a record-breaking entry list of 35 cars. Winners of the African Rally Championship were Karan Patel, navigated by Tauseef Khan. Leroy Gomes and Urshilla Gomes secured the second position, while Hamza Anwar, navigated by Adnan Din, finished in third place. In the Tanzania National Rally Championship, Tufail Amin, navigated by Victor Jackson, emerged as the new winner. They showcased their skills and secured the top position in the championship. The second position was held by the Munge Rally Team, with Shehzad Munge as the driver and Imran Chandu as the navigator. The third position went to the Sierra Zulu Rally Team, led by the skilled and talented driver Jamil Khan, navigated by Fathy Saleh.

The Usambara Motorsports Club in Tanga hosted the fourth round of the Tanzania National Rally Championship. The event was called Atlantic Tanga Rally and was sponsored by Atlantic Grease and Lubricants International Limited. The event had significant drama as the winners were not initially announced, disappointing the fans. The winners were later revealed as Altaaf Munge, navigated by Al Hamoud, from Munge Rally Team. Fuchs Titan Rally Team’s Raj Dee, navigated by Aaron John, secured the second position. Birdi Rally Team’s Manveer Birdi, navigated by Ravi Chana, finished in third place.
Atlantic Guru Nanak Rally in Arusha:
The fifth round of the Tanzania National Rally Championship was scheduled to take place in Arusha. It was postponed due to the death of Arusha Motorsports Club Captain Steve Lohay. The event was rescheduled as the Atlantic Guru Nanak Rally in loving memory of Captain Stephen Lohay Haybhukhai. The winners of the event were Moil Rally Team from Uganda, with Yassir Nasser as the driver and Ali Katumba as the navigator. Tufail Amin, navigated by Manmeet Birdi, secured the second position, and Birdi Rally Team’s Manveer Birdi, navigated by Ravi Chana, finished in third place.
Atlantic Rally of Morogoro:
The final round of the Tanzania Rally Championship took place in Morogoro. The event had 11 cars participating. Tufail Amin, navigated by Manmeet Birdi, emerged as the winner for Tufail Rally Team. Raj Dee, navigated by Zubeyr Peridina, secured the second position for Fuchs Titan Rally Team. Pandya Rally Team, led by Dharam Pandya and navigated by Mustafa Ally, finished in third place.
Overall, the Tanzania Rally Championship in 2022 showcased intense competition, exciting moments, and the emergence of new talents in the rallying scene.
